A beautiful day on the Sussex coast captured forever by the famous English landscape painter Henry H. Parker (1858-1930). Women work together to harvest a hay field and stack bundles of hay into piles. The remains of their lunch and a few discarded rakes lay in the foreground as the women work on the far side of the field. The clouds let through enough sunshine to make the distant shoreline waters glow almost turquoise. Parker is most well-known for his brightly lit English landscapes and this one’s yet another fine example of his work.
