…by the famous artist Abraham Bosse
One of a series of etchings by the French artist Abraham Bosse (1604-1676) depicting the Edict of 1633 by Louis XIII regulating “Superfluity of Dress.” While still quite regal and lovely, this etching is supposed to show how ladies should dress modestly without ornamentation.
