Rocks Along the Shore was painted by the Danish landscape artist in 1875. This painting shows a rocky coastline on a cloudy morning. As the sun appears to be either rising or setting, the shadows hide what appears to be a cave and further shows the harsh conditions the trees strive to grow in.
La Cour lived from 1837 to 1909. To learn more about the artist and view selected other paintings, please visit our Janus Andreas Bartholin La Cour biography.
