There’s only two talented famous R artists profiled here so far, one that you have probably heard of and another that you may not have.
Allan Ramsay was a Scottish painter from the 1700s. He is most well-known for his portraits, often of members of various royal houses of Europe.
Peter Paul Rubens, by all accounts, is one of the most famous painters in history. One list of the 101 Most Important Painters puts him at number 27 and one his paintings is among the world’s most expensive paintings which sold at auction for a little under $100 million. He was Belgian but his style was more like the Italian painters – high Renaissance and early Baroque.
