Named for the blue and white flowers she holds, this Sophie Gengembre Anderson (1823-1903) painting depicts a young girl thinking about something much bigger than the small flowers she holds. Wearing a gauzy wrap about her shoulders and also wearing the blue flowers in her hair, she appears to be outside among the trees and flowers. The background is painted in muted browns so as to almost disappear in the background as all focus is directed to the beautiful girl and her delicate flowers.
